Chapter 135, of the Laws of New York, 2002, amended the New York State Education Law by adding Section 7211, which mandates that all New York licensed land surveyors must obtain a minimum of 24 hours of continuing education each triennial registration period, commencing on January 1, 2004. Registrations renewing less than three years from January 1, 2004, and on or after January 1, 2005, will be required to complete continuing education hours on a prorated basis for that initial registration period.
